Q: What if the top finisher is unable to attend the event?
A: Please contact the next fastest finisher and so on to find a student and parent/guardian who can attend.
Q: Does a parent/guardian need to accompany the student to the event?
A: Yes, a parent/guardian must be present at the event in order for the student to participate.
Q: What if the coordinating teacher or principal would like to attend the event in support of our participating student?
A: Please email Steven Williams, St. Paul's Fastest Kid! Coordinator, at fastestkidinstpaul@gmail.comto let him know that you are interested in attending. We will reserve a free admission ticket for you.
Q: Can any 5th or 6th grader participate in the St. Paul's Fastest Kid! event?
A: The St. Paul's Fastest Kid! Race is for 5th and 6th grade students in a participating school located in St. Paul. Entries are initially limited to one male and female runner from each school. The number of wheelers per school will be determined a per school/per registrant basis. You can email fastestkidinstpaul@gmail.comto see if your school has registered to participate or to see if the number of entries per school has been expanded. You may also contact the school directly to demonstrate your interest and support in participating in this event.
Q: Will the event be held in bad weather?
A: In the event of bad weather, we will continue the meet regardless, with the exception of nearby lightning. If the meet is cancelled, the decision will be made as early as possible. A cancellation announcement will be posted on the website and an email notification will be sent out to email addresses received during entry process. If cancelled, the meet will not be rescheduled due to limited facility availablity.
Q: What should the St. Paul's Fastest Kid! qualifier wear or bring to the event?
A: Participants should bring clothing that is comfortable for warming up and running in outside. We would recommend bringing sweat pants, shorts, athletic shoes, t-shirt, long-sleeve shirt and sweatshirt. We also recommend bringing a water bottle.
